I just realized...my weblog turned a year old on Sunday. Writing this weblog has been a wonderful experience for me. It's an outlet for all the buzz that goes on in my head, a way to connect with other people who are interested in how to make things better where they work. It's also like self therapy because if you haven't caught on by now, a lot of the dilemmas I talk about here are things that actually are happening or have happened in my work life. Thanks for indulging me.
I really want to think everyone who thinks enough of this blog to read it and even subscribe to it. You make my day and I always love hearing from you. Whenever you want to comment on anything you read, just click comment, you don't have to agree with me, it's fun either way. I also want to once again thank my friend, Ed Brenegar who writes the Leading Questions blog. He is the one who suggested that I start a blog and has encouraged me. He and Tom Morris encouraged me through a difficult professional crossroads and kept me on the right path. That path has turned out to have many twists and turns (all duly recorded on this weblog somewhere), a few detours and pitfalls, but in the end it is the journey that has made me grow up, accept responsibility for what outcomes I create and focus on the many positive things in my life.
If I am going to mention people who back me up and encourage me I must also mention my family, Mark, Kim, Adam, Erik and Nick. They complete me (I know, I'm corny, you should be used to it by now). Finally thanks to my boss and co-workers, Jeff Price, Betsy Armstrong, Julie Edwards, Annette Lane, Janis Young, and Cady Russell. You put up with me and my ideas all day. 'Nuff said.
