If You Like To Cook

If you like to cook, you have to leave my site right now and go visit Soup Spoon.  It's a delightful weblog filled with one great recipe after another.  I had friends over for dinner tonight and the menu featured recipes from this site.  Everyone loved everything and I got rave reviews.  My poor friends were food drunk, but no one was complaining.

I not only enjoy the wonderful recipes, I love the accompanying narration.  It's just such a comforting, inspiring site for anyone who loves to cook.  Take a look, you'll be glad you did.

    Just a quick one.  If you love to cook, you have to visit a new blog I've found called Soup Spoon.  Not only are there great recipes there with pictures of how to make some of them, she's got some good stories to tell.  She's a good example of choosing your reaction to events so that you don't get all bent out of shape about things you can't control.  Take a look, it's a delightful blog.

Let 'Em Eat Ice Cream!

    Sure is hot out there.  Warm weather is great, until it's not.  That's why they call these sticky August days the dog days of summer.  Spirits can wilt and dispositions are not always as bright as they should be.  So shake it up a little and treat your staff to some summer fun.
     It's amazing how much a ice cream cone can turn grown adults into kids again.  But is it really the ice cream or is it knowing that they're appreciated and that someone took the time to do something to show it?  Everybody loves to be told they matter and it doesn't have to be a big ticket item. 
    Instead of waiting for a major event to bestow an expensive reward on your staff, consistently do nice things all through the year.  You expect consistently good performance, don't you?  So show you care and appreciate what they do and they'll never let you down.  Besides, it's fun to see the reactions you'll get!
    While you're at it, take pictures and start a photo album.  It's nice to look back on good times and people that have moved on.  Good memories reinforce loyalty and performance.  The best compliment a manager can get is that the staff enjoys coming to work.  You can make it happen.
