Wouldn't you know it? I go on vacation to the beach and the sign in the hotel lobby says, "Welcome Old North Dental." Wow, I just can't get away from all things dental. Well, after seeing this great, fun-loving group, I'm glad our visits overlapped.
This week my weblog is about the Cross of Life and how you have to make time for the different aspects that make a happy life. These people had it all going on at once. They were here for a dental conference and many had brought family, including extended family. They were having a blast. They were fun to watch and they were a living example of how to have a great time. One gentleman was fully dressed, sitting on a chair on the beach watching about 15 of his family members having a blast in the surf. As I walked by, I asked him if he preferred dry land to the waves and what lies beneath. He smiled and said he was enjoying seeing his family have fun and was thanking God for making it possible for him to achieve what he has so that he could afford to bring them all here.
There you have it. Work, play, love and worship all being realized and acknowledged by one sweet man. So simple and so easy to enjoy. Is it sitting right under your nose waiting for you to realize that you've got it really good? By most standards, these were simple pleasures that this gentleman was so thankful for. Well...maybe he realizes that it's the simple pleasures that make a real life.
